It's getting interesting...

For more then 2 weeks I have not wrote anything as I was away again in Thailand.  This time my mum tagged along and we had tons of things to do.  First off is to go to Bangkok to settle our marriage certificate and passports for my wife and kids.

I already hit a wall at Bangkok at the Singapore embassy on day 1 (we were there for 5 days and 4 nights.)  I did not have the necessary documents as requested by the embassy so I need to re-arrange another day to do it.  It seems that those written in the thaivisa forum does not apply to a Singaporean marrying a Thai citizen :P  I need to provide I have no police or criminal offense and I need to submit a query to MOM to show my wife is not currently working in Singapore.  I also need  a letter from my current employee (letter of appointment) to show I am still working in SG... duh.... bloody hell, how come Singaporeans so difficult to get married in Thailand one leh???

Passport for wife and the kids were easier.  Very straightforward and it will be posted to my wife in 8 working days time.

This month is interesting also as my Team Lead in my job has left.  Quite suddeb actually and he only broke the news 2 weeks prior to his departure (although I did learnt from another teammate he is leaving)  So when I'm back at work tomorrow.  He won't be around anymore.  Although I don't agree to some of his certain work entihcs and practices, I will still give my best wishes to him in his new job :)

I too have certain plans in my mind and its regarding my own future career.  I have this vision and am currently drafting a plan to make it come true.  It will take months or even years but at least I know what I want.  So stay tuned for nore as mentioned in the title... ITS GETTING INTERESTING>>

Its all peaceful here in the north.

I guess most of you have heard the latest clash in Bangkok.  I'm still in Thailand and won't be back till 22nd April.  Just want to assure my friends who reads my blog that all is peaceful up here in the North.  This protests in the capital is also a huge disturbance to my plans to get married in Thailand.  I need to certefied with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Singapore Embassy before I can get married at any local Amphue.  So I guess the "getting married" part will be furthur delayed till everything sorts out in the capital.

Apologies I can't write as often nowadays as 2 kids are eating away most of my time.  I can't even find enough spare time to go out and shoot!  I have already lost a hobby and the spare time left for me is down to blogging about stuff or shooting stuff (photography lah) :P

So of course I chose the latter.  Just spent some time shooting some 120 with my Hassy.  Yup.  My MF is in Thailand... :P.  But the weather is hazy so I doubt the results will be great.

Okie.. Boy crying and girl girl is jumping around.... gotta go ...

On March 18, 2010 at 12 noon

I received a call from my wife informing me that in her hands, are the documents and new photo id.  Declaring her and my kids to be a full fledge citizens of Thailand.

I just woke up from my sleep actually (I was working night shift last night) so I was half awake and half sleeping when I received that call.  I actually went back to sleep without thinking much.. I thought I was dreaming  :P. But I re-confirmed it just now when I woke up. Immediately gave my wife a call and she said "I'm at home celebrating already!"

So it hit me. For 5 long years I have waited for this day to come and it came in such a very short notice.  The last update was that they are going up to the Amphur today to get a number but everything was completed in the first half of the day (A very first for me that the Thai officials worked so fast :P).  Normally it will take a day just to even sign a bloody form....

Can't really explain my feelings now.... hands are a bit shaking and still wonder if this is a dream hahahahaha... I actually felt a bit dissapointed as I'm not physically there with my wife today....

So now I have tons of things to do in Thailand.  My options are threw wide open.  I am no longer bounded by my current predicaments.  There are other problems to solve but at least I don't get the answer of "not able to do it" due to my wifer's stateless issues.

It will be a day I will remember forever and its such an easy to date to remember.  March 18.  Just 2 months before my girl's birhtday (May 18).

So just one to declare one more time.  On March 18, 2010.  My wife and kids are stateless no more.  They are citizens of Thailand. :D

Some great news.

For those who have been following my blog, my main problem (wife's citizenship) is going to be solved soon.  My wife and I had been travelling up to the Amphur so many times that we befriended some of the officers up in th amphur.  And since my wife dare not to drive the car up the mountains.  We left our contacts to one of the officers in the amphur.  So if there are any information regarding our application, he could give us a call.

Yesterday wify received one of the best phone calls ever.  The officer called and informed my wife that on his hand are the documents that are signed and stamped.  Approving my wife's full citizenship.  Now its only waiting to be called up to the office to take a photo id and she is a full thai citizen.  No more movement restrictions in the country and harressments from other gahment related bodies.

Girl girl is also given Sian Chart.  So its a double win! We were a bit worried as we only applied for Mommy but Thai laws automatically grant her full citizenship too.  So this is true (for those who are speculating in the forum,)  I am a living example that your childrens will be granted full citizenship before the age of 13)

All in all, wife is pretty excited and hopefully she will be called up within this week to take the photo id.  Political tension is high now in Bangkok so I hope she could get it done before everything goes haywire again.....

Will be going back this coming Friday for a short trip.  Girl girl will be performing a dance rountine in a school (end of term) event.  She complained to wify that why I was not around last year so this year I am making sure I will be there for her :).

All fingers crossed.

Busy Weekend

Last weekend was full of activities.  I was working Night shift all the way since last Wednesday.  Our office will be renovated and our data centre was shifted to a new location (actually just next door)

It was hectic.  All sorts of issues, funny incidents and bloody cock ups... Anyway, the official shift was on Saturday and since I was on night shift, I managed to "siam" (escaped) this major event.  Instead of catching some Zs during daytime.   I made a mistake and went to the airshow 2010.  Main reason was to see the A-10 Thundervolt II.  My all time favourite war plane :P  Its pretty cool but I got sun burnt... :P

You can check out the photos from my facebook by clicking on the photo below.

So came back from the airshow, took a bath, rest a bit and went back office to work.  Wa... Office was in chaos and there were serveral issues.

On Sunday, our HK team decided to have a little steamboat party in office as it will be the last time we get to see our office as the whole room and furnitures would be tore down for something new.  Took my Diana F+ and instanx back to shoot some Polaroids for the event.  Then we started to do some "creative" stuffs by posing in silly positions...

Steam boat event at office with Diana F+ and Instanx back

Over in Thailand side.  Wife complaining ah girl very naughty :P Used the scissors to cut our kitchen table cloth.... We had a short video conference and I tried to chat with her but she seems a bit nonchalant.. not sure what really happened.. Need to find out more.

Ah boy can crawl liao and not feeling that well.  Wife said they are doing the buring again (same old shit we get here from Indonesia) and its getting worse.  So ah boy has started coughing on Saturday and a bit feverish today. Wife sent him to the clinic again... hiaz...

2010 seems like not a very good year for us.  Chinese New Year is coming, hopefully can bring us some better news....
